THE BRIEF
The Melbourne University Macau Students' Association previous website was built by two members of the association with IT background. There are multiple enhancement that the client wants to pursue. First, the previous public site and the committee's admin portal used two seperate systems doing overlapping work. Therefore, every coding update needs to be done in both systems. Second, Event ticketing was done using an outside third-party service. Third, Sub-committee recruitment system was hardcoded hence recruitment are not possible to perform without a programmer and approval emails needs to be handed outside the system. The client wants a website that is user-friendly to committees and members even they are not from an IT background.
WHAT WE BUILT
According to the client's requirement:
- The public site and the committee's admin portal now operate using the same codebase and therefore every update can be done at the public site and admin portal at the same time.
- A new ticketing system was built thus committees can announce the event and make the event ticketing within the system.
- A new recruitment system was created inside the system for the association's president and director to approve the sub-committee application.
- A new digital membership card system that also integrated with Apple Wallet Pass was constructed for members to enjoys benefits from the association.
